The News Room Review
This show was very disappointing because I thought it would be much better. The Show "The News Room" was going to be a show about a news anchor who is tired of the way media reports stories and events. HBO did well hiring an all star cast to propel the show to great heights.
However, this show simply does not work for the American public. They are doing a show about what everyone knows already, and just does not want to do anything about it. Everyone knows the American media is corrupt, and in the pockets of various corporations. The media is at the will of big business, capital hill, and its readers.
To be honest no media is completely free of influence whether it be politically or economically. The public knows this and they do something about it. They simply turn the Channel from One of the major news networks (CNN, MSNBC, NBC, & FOX) to reruns of American Dad or The Office.
The protagonist played by Jeff Daniels wants to change the way people see the American media. He wants to be the next great news reporter who changed America for the better informing the public. Yet with all of the information from the internet people can investigate things for themselves.
People are not reliant on the Media for everything any more. They are individuals who are able to make decisions for themselves, and look up the information. The news is always biased so why should one man be the savior of it.The show is not horrible and should get another season. However, for the long term it just does not make since for persons to relate to it.
Review of Life's To Short
The show Life's to short created by the creators of the office did not strike gold with this production. Instead I am afraid to say that they have failed miserably with this show. Unlike a lot of other successes this show was not entertaining at all.
The protagonist Warren Davis stars a failed actor in the British community. He plays a man whose life is going in the gutter losing his home, wife, business, and career in acting. The only person who could help him is Ricky Gervais who sees him as a joke.
The protagonist is also not a likeable person to the American media. He shows characteristics of narcissism, Napoleon syndrome, and an extreme pettiness. It is all about Warren Davis and no one else in the mind of his character.
Even with all of his struggles in life during the show there does not seem to be an evolution of the character taking place. He is forever the same character he has always been, but put in different circumstances not realizing that his constants are the main cause of his downfall.
This show is doomed to failure no matter how many famous actors they recruit to do five minute lines. The character is not willing to change or evolve, which would be fine if the audience could embrace him. The protagonist plays someone who resembles everyone in their life time, but the truth should make you laugh, and sadly the program does not do so. I give this program an F
The Show Girls
This is the second season of the HBO show called "Girls". The show has won awards and has been a debated topic over the course of the past year. When it first debuted a lot of people were angry with the show because it depicted the City of New York through the lives of middle class white women trying to make it.
The main protagonist who is the creator of the show is a terrible writer who is trying to be profound, and failing miserably at it. She believes herself to be a voice of a generation, and someone who can change the way readers see the world.
The protagonist does not have any real life experience, which is shown in the first ever episode when her parents cut her off from funding and tell her to get a job. While also complaining about her weight and eating habits.
Most of the stories involve sex, drugs, alcohol, and failing miserably. This show should have never won any awards, and should make persons wonder if HBO are buying awards to stay relevant. The protagonist being a writer does not work because she has not to say. Her life experience in minimal at best.
How this show appeals to most Americans is beyond me. It is well accepted that the best writers of the United States come from the Mid-West. A writer with such life experience of farms, serial killers, poverty, cold weather, and the everyday struggle would be a more interesting story for the show Girls.
This show may not end because of the amount of support the company has put into it. Even with ratings continuing to fall. If it goes past four seasons it will not be because of its quality. I strongly advice persons to not watch this show if they would like to maintain a certain level of intelligence.

Why is the show Enlightened still on?
There are times when I turn to HBO and see the show Enlightened. Yes it is true that I watch the show, but not because I am a big fan of it. It is not a show where any one could be a big fan at all. It is a show based on a protagonist who is a divorced white woman who is obviously in her late thirties to early forties.
She has a nervous break down and goes to a get away camp in order to reclaim her life. Yet in doing so becomes a hippie who wants to take down corporations, and the so called man. Yet when looking at her character it does not seem like anything has changed about her.
There has not been any real evolution of her character in two seasons. In all honesty she is a major narcissist who continues to get worse and worse as time goes on.There is always this soothing music in the background when she thinks, but all her thoughts are not worth anything.
To be honest it is just a show about someone who has not agreed to live in the world around her. She wants to change the world for the better, but lives in a suburban neighborhood. All of the major characters are white, and middle class.
I give this show a rating of an F because evolution of the character is none existent. If you enjoy shows with the same script for an entire season than this program is for you. I recommend that HBO cancel this program immediately because there is no saving it. How it got renewed for another season is beyond me.
