The Show Girls

This is the second season of the HBO show called "Girls". The show has won awards and has been a debated topic over the course of the past year. When it first debuted a lot of people were angry with the show because it depicted the City of New York through the lives of middle class white women trying to make it.

The main protagonist who is the creator of the show is a terrible writer who is trying to be profound, and failing miserably at it. She believes herself to be a voice of a generation, and someone who can change the way readers see the world.

The protagonist does not have any real life experience, which is shown in the first ever episode when her parents cut her off from funding and tell her to get a job. While also complaining about her weight and eating habits.

Most of the stories involve sex, drugs, alcohol, and failing miserably. This show should have never won any awards, and should make persons wonder if HBO are buying awards to stay relevant. The protagonist being a writer does not work because she has not to say. Her life experience in minimal at best.

How this show appeals to most Americans is beyond me. It is well accepted that the best writers of the United States come from the Mid-West. A writer with such life experience of farms, serial killers, poverty, cold weather, and the everyday struggle would be a more interesting story for the show Girls.

This show may not end because of the amount of support the company has put into it. Even with ratings continuing to fall. If it goes past four seasons it will not be because of its quality. I strongly advice persons to not watch this show if they would like to maintain a certain level of intelligence.
